Prince George joined the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, for a family day out at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday.
While the royals were there to cheer on athletes and meet competitors, it was George’s impressive height that quickly became one of the day’s biggest talking points.
Footage from the event showed the young prince walking confidently alongside his family, appearing almost level with his father, William, who stands at 6ft 3in.
George has also caught up to his mother, the Princess of Wales, making it clear he has enjoyed a remarkable growth spurt over the past year.
His rapid growth is something Kate herself has noticed. During the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walk at Sandringham last December, she smiled while chatting with fans and remarked that George was “catching up with everybody.”
They also spent time at Wales House, where they met Team Wales athletes and their families.
When television presenter Gethin Jones jokingly asked William and Catherine should try riding a tandem bicycle at the velodrome, the Prince and Princess laughed at the idea.
