Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were finally able to step back onto the British soil with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for an emotional reunion with King Charles.
While the visit did not come without its hiccups, the meeting held at Highgrove House earlier this month, but all the details have been kept a secret. Buckingham Palace stressed in its announcement that there will be no photos or details released from the family gathering.
It was later confirmed, via Meghan’s sneaky photo of Althorp estate, that the Sussexes also visited the resting place of Princess Diana. There have been many critics who have slammed the move by the Duchess of Sussex for violating a secret pact.
The jury is still out on the matter, however, there was one other detail that keen royal watchers may have missed, which is the much more private family reunion in Portugal.
It is understood that before Meghan and the children arrived in UK, the family was on a European holiday. In one photo, a Portuguese menu is seen in the background. In another, there is a photo of a beach view, which seems awfully similar to the one near Eugenie’s home in the country.
The youngest daughter of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who is also expecting her third child, is reportedly in Portugal to unwind before the new arrival. The King’s niece has been under much stress given the Epstein scandal and controversies surrounding her family.
Harry and Eugenie have always had a close bond. She had been the only royal who has kept in contact with the Sussexes after their exit. Harry has also remarked that Meghan and Eugenie share a bond like “sisters”.
Hence, it would not come as a surprise if the Sussexes would also made a secret visit to offer some support to their relative.
Archie and Lilibet would also have the oppportunity to meet their cousins for the first time. Since they cannot meet with William and Kate’s children, George, Charlotte, Louis, currently, their meeting with August and Ernest would have been delightful.
