King Charles might be seeing Balmoral as a once-in-a-lifetime chance to reunite his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry — hoping this royal gathering will finally melt years of frost between the brothers.
Inviting the Duke of Sussex to Balmoral would be a perfect move for the 77-year-old monarch.
The Duke and King Charles have apparently sought to repair their relationship in the past year. However, the future monarch, William, remains resolutely opposed to any reconciliation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have already arrived at Balmoral for a crisis summit to discuss the situation and was with Charles when news broke of Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK.
There are speculation that the King could invite them to Balmoral. In fact, if Charles is in Scotland when Harry returns to Britain, it could be the perfect opportunity to heal rift.
Balmoral will allow the two Princes to actually sit down together, talk and address whatever needs to be addressed without the same level of scrutiny they would have elsewhere.
Harry reportedly sees his children’s futre in the UK. The moment comes over six years since he stepped down as senior working royal and relocated to the US.
Harry has a complex relationship with Balmoral. He was there when his mother Princess Diana lost her life in a car accident in 1997.
But, in his 2023 memoir Spare, he described the estate as “simply Paradise” and a “cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove.”
