The Royal Family is set to undergo a drastic shift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shock decision to return.
Things had been manageable for the royals as the distance had been working in favour of the senior members, not having to take any firm stance in the Waleses vs Sussexes feud.
Private interactions between Harry and the members would have happened with much fanfare. And even if no meeting happened, it was easy to pin the blame on time and schedule conflicts. Now the situation appears impossible to address.
However, now that Harry and Meghan would be close enough to join the wider family, there would be awkwardness about how the members would broach the situation. Hence, an emergency family meeting had taken place at Balmoral on Friday, according to a report by Daily Mail.
Princess Anne, Zara and Mike Tindall, Prince Edward and James, Earl Wessex, were pictured driving into the estate driving into the Scottish estate early morning on Friday.
Peter Phillips and his new wife Harriet Sperling were also spotted earlier in the week. Meanwhile, Prince William and Princess Kate also arrived with their children to Balmoral.
It is being dubbed as the “Sussex summit” as all the royals have gathered at the Balmoral Castle for the break. It is likely that discussions are taking place on how to navigate the situation.
Royal expert Emily Nash had pointed out that there is a “risk” that other members would continue to “avoid” the Sussexes and that would make them look “petty and unforgiving”. William and Kate remain on tip of that list, but the rest still have some room.
It was only a matter of weeks before that King met the Sussexes at Highgrove but insiders insist that the relocation plans never came up and were only revealed until Sunday.
