Prince Harry, who’s in the UK with his famiy, moved his brother Prince William to tears with a heartwarming gesture during a milestone celebration, revealing the two royal brothers’ strength and natural bond.
William and Kate’s 2011 royal wedding was a fairytale affair, but before the lovebirds said ‘I do’, the future monarch enjoyed a memorable stag weekend in Devon, courtesy of his younger brother Harry.
Though, the two princes’ relationship grew strained after the Sussexes stepped back from royal life, followed by bombshell interviews and the Duke’s memoir ‘Spare’, moments like this remind the world that brotherhood endures.
Harry played an important role in organising a milestone celebration for his brother.
In his biography, William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, Russell Myers revealed some unexpected details about the couple’s private festivities in the run-up to the royal wedding on 29 April 2011.
The responsibility of organising his brother’s stag fell to Harry, who threw himself into it wholeheartedly.
The weekend-long bash took place at Hartland Abbey, the north Devon residence of his mate George Stucley and, according to Myers, 20 of William’s closest mates were in attendance.
The group “spent the weekend learning to surf near a secluded cove called Speke’s Mill, while Harry later organised shooting on the estate and a range of drinking games.”
There was even a costume for the stag, as “William was even forced to dress up in a wig and apron with fake chest hair.”
The royal brothers were celebrated for an unbreakable bond before Meghan’s entry into Harry”s life. They laughed through everything together and stood by each other through it all.
After losing their mother, Diana, at just 36, the young brothers became each other’s greatest source of strength, a bond the world admired.
At present, William and Harry are distant and have barely spoken in years. Yet the love forged in childhood doesn’t disappear. It just waits for the right moment to be remembered.
