Prince William could be forced to miss a milestone moment with Prince George as he received important orders at the behest of King Charles.
The Prince of Wales has been confirmed to attend the funeral of late King Harald of Norway on Wednesday by the Buckingham Palace. William will be performing an important role as the heir to King Charles.
Meanwhile, Princess Anne will be accompanying William owing to familial ties, as the Princess Royal is also the godmother of the new King Haakon.
This is a tough schedule for William as Prince George will be having his first day at Eton College at around the same time. The young royal will be walking through the gates of his father’s alma mater on Tuesday as introductory sessions are held. Sessions will formally begin on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the funeral will be held on September 9, at the Oslo Cathedral, but royal guests are expected to arrive earlier than schedule. It is a two-hour flight from London to Oslo, and on hour time difference.
William would be expected to leave some time before, which means it would be a close call for him to manage being at George’s drop-off. It is understood that there won’t be any press during the first day of Eton like there was for Prince William and Prince Harry.
However, the doting father will be doing is best to not miss his son’s big day and especially knowing how important this moment is for the Wales family.
