Prince William and Princess Kate shared an uplifting message following their unexpected appearance with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Louis.
The family was seen in Scotland as they arrived on the penultimate day of the Commonwealth Games. The King acknowledged their presence at the big event along with other ‘members of the royal family’.
Following this, the Prince and Princess of Wales also expressed their feelings on attending and bringing their children in for the first time.
“Congratulations to every athlete taking part in this year’s Commonwealth Games!” the message read alongside a clip of highlights.
“A special well done to Team Wales for proudly representing the nation on the international stage,” it continued. “It was a pleasure to join the athletes today at Wales House. Llongyfarchiadau, Team Wales!”
This was a special moment for the Waleses, who had been on their summer break for Balmoral, as George, Charlotte and Louis were making a joint public appearance for the first time as the eldest Wales child is ready for boarding school.
George turned 13 last month and will be joining Eton College in September. The Waleses are understood to be spending family time together, as much as they can, as they officially mark George stepping into his royal role.
