Princess Catherine and Meghan Markle appear to have landed in a difficult predicament as hopes for a possible peace deal begins to flicker with Prince Harry’s secret plans.
It was reported earlier that the Duke of Sussex has been planning to pay tribute to his late mother Princess Diana with a special documentary, which is set to involve from his wife, Meghan. Daily Mail’s Senior Editor-at-Large, Richard Kay, had revealed that Harry has been reaching out to his friends and others who knew Diana, asking them to contribute.
Prince William is left “horrified” by the prospect and the major part of his annoyance is how Meghan is being compared to Diana. He believes if anyone is capable of carrying his mother’s legacy, it is Catherine.
“From Harry’s perspective, it makes perfect sense to have Meghan heavily involved in this project. She’s his producing partner, and she brings a ton of expertise to the table,” a royal insider told Woman’s Day, noting that Meghan reminds Harry of Diana.
Apparently, the Sussexes been “collecting footage with the full support of the Spencers, so there really isn’t anything standing in the way of this – aside from William, of course, who’s horrified at the whole prospect”.
William “can’t stand the narrative that Meghan is somehow this Diana 2.0, so hearing that she and Harry are hijacking this tribute to his late mother, and on UK soil, no less, has sent him around the bend”.
They continued, “[William] says if anyone is like Diana, it’s Kate, who is just as devoted to her memory but in a much less showy way, which to William only proves his point, since Diana was never interested in the spotlight.”
