Princess Anne has presented a special award to an equine lecturer during a visit to the Margaret Haes Riding Centre, celebrating her contribution to coaching and her work within the equestrian community.
Leah Crook was presented with a BHS Coaching4All Award by the Princess Royal at the event, with Myerscough College sharing the proud moment on Instagram.
The college revealed that Leah has a particularly close connection to the institution, having first studied there before returning as a lecturer.
She completed a BA (Hons) in Equine Management at Myerscough, followed by a Master’s degree in Equine Science, and now teaches across several of the college’s equine programmes.
Her recognition came during Princess Anne’s visit to the Margaret Haes Riding Centre, where she was attending in her role as Vice Patron of the British Horse Society.
The BHS Coaching4All is designed to make riding and coaching more accessible, supporting instructors in creating welcoming environments for people from different backgrounds and with varying needs.
The Princess Royal’s visit also gave her the opportunity to meet those working behind the scenes to encourage participation in riding and develop the next generation of equestrian talent.
Sharing photographs from the occasion, Myerscough College wrote: “Last week, equine lecturer Leah Crook was presented with a BHS Coaching4All Award by HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, at an event at Margaret Haes Riding Centre.”
The college added that Leah “teaches across all of our programmes” and described her as a Myerscough equine alumna.
