Princess Eugenie has given birth to a baby girl at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, Buckingham Palace announced Tuesday, August 4.
The baby arrived on Monday, August 3, at 6:20 PM BST, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.
The Princess wrote on official Instagram: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie”, along with posting a photo of the newborn’s back.
The palace statement read: “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
This latest addition is the couple’s third-born child, alongside brothers August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, aged five years old and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, aged three years old. The new baby is Princess Eugenie’s first child, and she does not have an HRH status.
The new arrival is the fifteenth in line to the British Throne, surpassing her great-uncle, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.
The couple tied the knot in October 2018 and divided their time between Portugal and Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom property at Kensington Palace.
The baby is the fifth grandchild for Eugenie’s father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The former prince was stripped of his royal titles and honours by King Charles last year. While Andrew lost his title, both Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice retained theirs. However, neither is a working royal.
Eugenie announced that she was pregnant in May when she posted a picture of her two little boys with an ultrasound scan, captioned “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” The baby’s name hasn’t been announced yet.
