Queen Camilla has delighted one lucky subscriber with a thoughtful gesture as she was captured preparing a special gift for a book lover.
Heywood Hill shared a photograph of Her Majesty carefully gift wrapping a book and signing a personalised postcard, which will be sent to the fortunate winner as part of the subscriber giveaway.
Heywood is an independent London bookshop, which has a long history of serving literary enthusiasts, described the gift as an exciting surprise for its subscribers.
Recently, the Queen visited the beloved bookshop where she celebrated the store’s 90th anniversary and revealed a surprising literary confession that left guests smiling.
As a long-time supporter of reading and literacy initiatives, joined the independent bookshop’s celebrations and took part in a personalised reading session.
Despite her deep love of books, Camilla admitted that science fiction is not for her.
When asked about her reading tastes, the Queen revealed that around 80 per cent of the books she reads are fiction, before laughingly confessing: “I hate sci-fi.”
“You have to have some things you love and some things you really don’t love,” she said, making clear that science fiction was firmly in the second category.
