Sources close to the former couple claim the singer has quietly leaned on Affleck as both a trusted confidant and a sounding board for her career, proving that some relationships don’t survive as romances–but can thrive in a very different form.
“Ben isn’t neurotic at all about Jennifer continuing to rely on his counsel, and even his emotional support, when it’s needed,” an insider said.
The source added that Affleck is not just willing to help–he actually enjoys it.
“He’s still advising her, and he wants her to win. In fact, it fuels his ego – in a healthy way – to know that she still takes him incredibly seriously as an advisor, even though they couldn’t make it work as a married couple.”
