Reese Witherspoon’s father, John Draper Witherspoon, was rushed to a Nashville hospital on Friday after reportedly being found on the concrete near the pool at his condo.
According to reports citing Page Six, the 84-year-old was face down on the ground when he was discovered, though he was said to be conscious by the time he was taken to the hospital.
Details about what led to the incident or his current condition have not been made public.
Witherspoon, a retired military surgeon who served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, raised Reese and her older brother John in Nashville, a city the family has remained closely tied to throughout Reese’s career.
Reese, who turned 50 this March and celebrated the milestone with a star-studded party in the city, has continued to call Nashville home base for much of her family life.
