A Ryanair passenger who was almost sucked out of the window mid-air has not received any kind of compensation or even a phone call from the management except an offer to rebook his flight.
Ljubisa Karovic, aboard the flight en route to Memmingen, Germany, from Thessaloniki, Greece, has a near death experience after getting sucked out of the broken plane window. He was pulled inside by fellow passengers.
In an interview with Daily Mail, the Serbian national said: “All we’ve had is emails to my son, who booked our flights, asking if we want to rebook and asking how I was. But nobody from the company has contacted me directly – not even a phone call to show any concern.”
Karovic suffered severe friction burns, bruising and psychological trauma after his head and upper body were partially sucked out of the aircraft. He has also described being haunted by the sound of the window exploding, saying it continues to keep him awake at night.
His wife who pulled him back after he was nearly sucked out of the window alleged that none of the staff (crew members) did anything to help and let her battle the situation on her own.
Ryanair has rejected those claims, insisting its crew followed emergency procedures, assisted Karovic once the plane reached a safe altitude and arranged medical treatment after landing.
The incident remains under investigation, with authorities examining what caused the window to detach during the flight.
Early reports suggest a piece of debris may have struck the aircraft, though investigators have not yet reached a final conclusion.
