The Seattle food festival turned chaotic when gunshots were fired at the crowd by an unknown suspect on Sunday evening, July 26, 2026.
The incident left two people dead and wounded several others, officials from the Seattle Police Department have confirmed.
The shooting began at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday evening at Seattle Center after police responded to the reports of multiple gunfires.
The food festival was humming just a block away from the city’s historic Space Needle.
The Seattle Center was organizing the yearly event Bite of Seattle, which stretches over three days, drawing large number of crowds.
A massive law enforcement presence from multiple agencies including FBI and ATF is seen due to the scale of the crowds and scope of the probe.
According to Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, one suspect has been arrested following the shooting at Food Fest in Seattle.

The four injured who sustained gunshot injuries, the youngest of which was a 2-year-old, are being treated at Harborview Medical Center, including a woman who is said to be in critical condition.
