Shane MacGowan has left almost £5 million to his wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, after his death in 2023.
The Pogues singer died on November 30, 2023, at the age of 65. He died at home with Victoria and other family members with him.
His will has now shown what happened to his money after his death.
Records show that Shane got £4.8 million in England and Wales s Victoria has been named as the only person who will receive his estate.
She, however, was also named as the person who would deal with his will.
Shane wrote the will in March 2018. At that time, he and Victoria were not married yet. The couple married later that year in Copenhagen.
They were together for many years before their wedding.
Shane also named his sister, Siobhan MacGowan, in the will as well. She would have received his money if Victoria had died before him.
Shane, moreover, was born in Kent in 1957 to Irish parents as he then spent much of his childhood in Tipperary, Ireland.
He became famous as the singer of The Pogues. The late star was best known for songs including Fairytale Of New York.
Shane’s funeral was held in Tipperary and was attended by stars including Johnny Depp, Aidan Gillen and Nick Cave.
