Supergirlhas wrapped up its time in cinemas but the movie did not get the ending DC was hoping for.
Its final box office numbers have now been revealed and they have left fans buzzing.
The film, which is starring Milly Alcock, made around $125.9 million worldwide after spending 40 days in cinemas.
It earned $72.1 million in the US and another $53.8 million from the rest of the world.
That is a disappointing result for a movie that reportedly cost around $170 million to make. Reports, however, say the studio could lose close to $200 million because ticket sales were much lower than expected.
The movie also finished behind other recent DC films like Blue Beetle and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
It has now become the lowest earning major DC movie at the worldwide box office.
While the movie was ending its cinema run, DC Studios boss James Gunn was busy celebrating his 60th birthday on the set of Man of Tomorrow.
He shared a happy photo with the cast and crew on Instagram and thanked them for making his day special.
Fans also noticed that Gunn shared the song It’s Not The End Of The World as some fans believed that it could be about Supergirl’s poor box office run.
For now, nothing has changed at DC Studios.
