The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh prepare for another busy day of joint engagements.
The couple are due to attend the Edinburgh International Festival on 14 August before joining performances of Come From Away and Ingoma, supporting organisations with which they hold patronages.
The Duchess of Edinburgh’s moment at Snow Centre
Sophie has been praised for her continued support of adaptive sport after making a special visit to The Snow Centre, where she met a young student and the charity’s founder during an event marking her new patronage.
Snowbility shared photographs of the memorable encounter on Instagram, revealing that their student George and founder Richard had the opportunity to meet Sophie during her visit.
Calling it “a very special day”, the organisation said the pair were “incredibly proud” to meet the Duchess, describing the moment as a chance to chat and share a memorable experience with the royal.
Sophie’s visit marked her new patronage supporting wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and veterans through adaptive snow sports.
The role reflects the Duchess’s interest in supporting members of the Armed Forces and it’s positive impact of sport and physical activity.
