Donald Trump has delivered a blunt verdict on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain, saying he would not have welcomed the couple back if he were a member of the Royal Family.
The US President said on Wednesday that he was “happy” that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had left America, making clear that he had never been a fan of the pair.
“I’m happy about it. I was not a fan. I didn’t like the way she acted,” Trump said.
He then turned his criticism towards Meghan, accusing her of being “terribly disrespectful” to Queen Elizabeth II.
“I would not have taken them back,” Trump added.
The remarks come as Harry and Meghan settle into a new chapter in Britain after spending around six years living in the United States.
The Sussexes are understood to have found a new home in the Cotswolds.
