U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly facing serious assassination threats amid escalating Middle East tensions.
As reported by The Washington Post, the threats led to the secret evacuation of Trump from Turkey last month with the help of an elaborate deception that involved decoy aircraft, a catering container, and deceiving agents serving as human shields.
Officials confirmed that the elaborate ruse occurred on July 8 when Trump departed the NATO summit in Ankara following an Iranian assassination threat. After boarding the older version of Air Force One in front of media, he exited through the opposite side and hopped onto a catering track which took him to a smaller C-32A military aircraft.
In this mission, three planes simultaneously departed Turkey, including an older Air Force One (acting as a decoy with reporters and staff aboard), a Qatari-gifted aircraft, and the secret C-32A that actually carried Trump to Britain.
White House spokesperson Steven Cheung confirmed: “The new Air Force One is a state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the President and his staff. Many enemies of America have their sights on him.”
Once in Britain, Trump surreptitiously reboarded the older Air Force One before disembarking publicly and transferring to the Qatari plane for his return to Washington. The deception left journalists and some White House staff unknowingly serving as decoys.
The operation was first reported by The Washington Post and confirmed by CNN and The New York Times. Trump had publicly claimed he was switching planes “for old time’s sake,” but officials now acknowledge the move was part of an elaborate security protocol.
When Trump landed at RAF Mildenhall in Britain, he secretly reboarded the older Air Force One before cameras could capture him. He then disembarked publicly and walked across the tarmac to the Qatari plane, which flew him home to Washington.
Amid the threats, national security officials are currently reviewing protocols. Iran, however, has not yet publicly commented on the allegations.
