A vampire-obsessed man from the United Kingdom (UK), who killed animals, drank their blood in hopes to live forever and dumped the bodies in front of churches in a British forest in Hampshire has been arrested and detained in a hospital.
The 48-year-old Benjamin Lewis, who stole the livestock from local farmers, was arrested after police carried out surveillance on church sites on significant dates in the satanic calendar as part of the operation named Trap Lewis.
The wannabe super-natural being was tracked via traces of his DNA left on a lamb’s remains. Lewis, who identified himself in court as “Count Dracula” has admitted to aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, distress and theft of livestock animals.
He will remain detained in a hospital until a mental health tribunal or justice secretary considers him safe to be released, the Judge William Mousley KC ruled. Lewis has apologised to his victims and appreciated the police for arresting him.
This strange case has also shaken the Police Chief Jessica Surman. She said, “This is the most unusual case I have worked on. It’s one where you think you have reached the end of the bizarreness and then something else happens and throws a curveball into the mix.”
She revealed that Lewis believed that drinking blood would help him live forever, avoid hell and become a vampire. The man was previously arrested in 2003 for terrorising a family by claiming to be a vampire.
