After Team USA won its fifth consecutive FIBA women’s basketball world cup, the two WNBA rivals, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, sent the WNBA fans into a frenzy as they celebrated the big win together.
Team USA won the FIBA World Cup final against France with a convincing win, 97-79 points, on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
A BTS video shared on the WNBA’s Instagram features the buzzing moments as Reese and her teammates celebrated the big win with gold medals around their necks.
The viral moment came when Caitlin Clark appeared in the video, spraying champagne—drawing reactions from the WNBA.
One fan wrote, “I’ve never wanted to be in a lock room so bad.”
Another added, “The world might be healing… till the wnba starts up against imaoo.”
A third one praised Clark for making buzz after the World Cup triumph and commented, “Cc is so adorable.”
However, Team USA maintained a 6-match winning streak in this FIBA World Cup, but fans have criticised head coach Kara Lawson for not picking up Clark for starting five.
Caitlin Clark started from the bench throughout Team USA’s title run that drew criticism from both Indiana Fever fans and analysts.
Clark played a key role in handing over a crushing defeat to Gabby Williams’ French side by scoring 12 points and 3 assists.
As the WNBA resumes its regular season on September 17, Fever star Caitlin Clark will appear in her game against the Toronto Tempo on Friday, September 18, 2026.
