Zara Tindall has been captured celebrating her equestrian career after being crowned British Open champion with her much loved horse Class Affair.
New photographs shared by Hartpury Equine Events on Instagram show the royal rider smiling as she receives the championship trophy following her victory at the NAF Hartpury International Celebration of Eventing.
The official account congratulated the pair, writing: “Your new @britisheventing Open Champions and winners of the @nafuk CCI4S – Congratulations Zara Tindall and Class Affair.”
The post also credited photographer Jasmine Punter for the images, which show Anne’s daughter posing alongside the silver trophy.
A first British Open title
The victory comes 20 years after her historic individual World Championship triumph at Aachen with Toytown.
She secured the 2026 title aboard 17-year-old Irish-bred gelding Class Affair, finishing ahead of a field of 73 combinations.
She has described the gelding as “probably one of the hardest horses I’ve ever ridden”, explaining that he can be unpredictable when asked to change pace.
“He’s super talented and very capable, but he doesn’t always do the thing you want him to do,” Zara said, describing him as a “funny soul” whom she nevertheless loves.
