Las Vegas Raiders’ running lineup was hit a major blow after RB Ashton Jeanty exited Sunday’s training camp with a scary injury.
During full team practice on Sunday, August 23, Jeanty suffered from an apparent right knee ailment.
Jeanty ran a route and dived for the football. Which was thrown low by veteran QB Kirk Cousins. Jeanty stumbled as he came down on the grass inside the practice facility.
He stayed on the ground before medics rushed and rescued him off the field.
Jeanty’s teammates appeared concerned over his well-being and said a prayer after he left the field.
However, at the moment, there have been no updates coming from Raiders on the severity of Jeanty’s scary injury.
The former No. 6 overall pick, Jeanty, was sixth pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
During his debut NFL season, Jeanty showed muscles, emerging as Raider’s No. 1 RB, and teased what could be a superstar future.
He appeared in 17 games as a rookie, running for 975 yards and five TDs on 266 rushing attempts.
If Ashton Jeanty misses an extended period of time, it would cast a major to the Raiders’ offence, which already appears to be short in ammo.
As the Raiders’ running back bench power beyond Jeanty extends to Washington, Dylan Laube, rookie free agent Roman Hemby and Dare Ogunbowale.
Jeanty also posted 55 catches for 346 yards and five touchdowns, and was a prospect as a key figure for Year 2 as the Raiders plan to lean on the run under first-year head coach Klint Kubiak.
