King Charles’ team acknowledged Duchess Sophie’s meaningful efforts for women in a new statement.
On October 1, the royal family’s official Instagram page released a series of pictures from the Duchess of Edinburgh’s appearance at this year’s ICAN forum titled ‘Security Reimagined.’
Graceful Sophie was seen beaming with joy alongside women who are bringing positive change.
The statement reads, “The Duchess of Edinburgh joined women peacebuilders at the Peace Palace in The Hague this week for this year’s ICAN forum titled ‘Security Reimagined’.
“Her Royal Highness met women peacebuilders from countries including Afghanistan, Syria and Uganda, working to advance peace and security in their communities and countries.
“The Duchess is a champion for the UN’s Women, Peace and Security agenda, which emphasises the importance of women’s meaningful participation in peace processes, and raises awareness of the ongoing impact of conflict-related sexual violence globally.”
