A Cincinnati traffic reporter has gone viral after catching a live crash while being on-air and nearly swearing on live television.
During a WCPO9 live broadcast, a reporter KJ Jacobs was updating about the traffic at I-71 at Gilbert Avenue when two vehicles had a collision. The incident was witnessed by the anchor in real time.
His reaction was abrupt and cuss words “oh sh*t” nearly came out of his mouth but Jacobs covered his mouth and apologised immediately. He said: “Oh I am so sorry. Literally just watched the crash happen in real time.”
Jacobs added that he almost said something inappropriate before smoothly continuing with the report. The 16-second clip was shared on X by the anchor himself. He captioned, “LIVE TV!! OSh… First time seeing a crash during a traffic segment #blooper.”
The post immediately went viral gaining over 5 million views and thousands of reshares in just a few hours.
Social media users reacted with amusement to Jacob’s viral blooper as one wrote, “Don’t even apologize. This was an “oh shit” moment. Never seen this happen before during a live newscast.”
Another chimed in, “You should be allowed to say sh*t on the news if something like this happens live lol.”
