Diplo has revealed that he secretly welcomed a baby girl a year ago, sharing that his daughter recently celebrated her first birthday during a getaway to Peru.
The 47-year-old DJ and record producer, born Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr., took to Instagram on Saturday, 15 August, to post rare photos from the family trip, confirming the arrival of his youngest child.
Posing alongside his sons as he cradled his daughter, whose face was kept private with a red heart emoji, the music hitmaker joked that the little girl marked turning one in style alongside llamas wearing sunglasses.
The Close To Me hitmaker, who is already a father to sons Lockett, 15, and Lazer, 11, with ex Kathryn Lockhart, as well as six-year-old Pace with Jevon King, admitted that squeezing the South American holiday into his packed touring schedule was no easy feat.
Despite the logistical challenge, he insisted that rearranging his commitments was entirely worth it.
Emphasising that he would much rather lose sleep hanging out with his family than spending summer nights at a club or a rave, the star described happiness as a collection of moments, such as sitting at 15,000 feet listening to a band play on a train to Cusco.
The trip proved to be a transformative experience for his middle son, Lazer, who could not even locate Peru on a map before they set off.
Seeing his tween grow and change in real time during their travels was the highlight of the journey for the musician, though he acknowledged that it was finally time to head back to work after making the hard-to-reach getaway happen.
