The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were back in the stands on Thursday as they continued their support for the XXIII Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, spending the day watching the athletics at Scotstoun Stadium.
Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie appeared in high spirits as they followed the track and field competitions, joining thousands of spectators celebrating another day of sporting excellence from across the Commonwealth.
They were not the only senior royals in attendance. The Princess Royal, accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence, also took her place in the stands.
Anne sat with the Vice President of Commonwealth Sport, Hugh Graham. She also met Finnie, the official mascot for the Glasgow 2026.
Earlier in the week, King Charles officially opened the competition, joined by Queen Camilla and the Duke of Edinburgh, reaffirming the monarchy’s enduring support for the event and its role in bringing together athletes from across the 56 Commonwealth nations.
Athletics is one of the centrepiece events of the Games, with competitors battling for medals across a packed programme of track and field disciplines.
