Prince Harry has received a delightful update from a royal experts who believe that the Duke’s most controversial royal plan could still become reality.
The Duke of Sussex’s “half-in, half-out” proposal is still alive, even after Buckingham Palace rejected it nearly seven years ago.
That bombshell move ultimately led Harry and Meghan to step down as senior working royals and relocate to the US.
Simon Vigar, author of The Four Wives of Windsor, believes the model is ultimately inevitable.
Speaking to Fox News, the expert recalled a similar moment in Queen Elizabeth’s life in 2020, saying: “Harry did think that there was a hybrid version that they could do.”
The Author appeaars to suuport Harry’s narrative, saying: “I think in years to come, there will be a hybrid version. I think he’s right.”
He explained why it is possible, “There has to be a hybrid version of this where people don’t get accused of cashing in but can support their cousins or their brother or whatever.”
The Sussexes’ option was widely rejected during the Sandringham Summit at Queen Elizabeth II’s Norfolk estate in 2020, where the senior royals also decided the terms of his and Meghan’s departure from royal life.
The late Queen drew a firm line that there would be no “half-in, half-out” role for the Sussexes. That year, the couple stepped back as senior royals and relucated to the US, citing intrusive coverage by the British press and a lack of support from the palace.
Simon Vigar’s latest comments have reignited the debate, with royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner saying the palace did not make wise decision by not considering the option.
“The half-in, half-out approach advocated by Harry and Meghan is the modern-day method of how royal families should operate,” he said.
Teh expert went on, “The late queen was extremely badly advised not to accept the formula laid out by Harry as he attempted to protect Meghan from the ravages of sustained attacks.”
Several royal experts still stick to their opinion that Harry may eventually have a better personal relationship with his family, however, a return as a working royal, especially under a “half-in, half-out” model, is highly unlikely.
