A mother of four children from Kansas City is fighting for her life after a family trip turns into a nightmare when a cluster of spiders.
The woman is identified as Britagne Miller, hailing from Kansas, while sitting by campfire a few months ago.
The campfire night turned into a nightmare when reportedly 15 arachnids crept up her legs and started biting her body.
Britagne was shifted to hospital on June 4, where doctors identified a massive haematoma that now requires emergency surgery.
Haematoma, in common terms, is described as a localised pool of clotted blood caused by trauma.
Britagne didn’t notice any signs at first, but later, within days, her condition rapidly deteriorated after she began experiencing agonising pain and chronic swelling in her calf.
Her husband, Jake Miller, posting an appeal on GoFundMe page, wrote, “Multiple doctors told us she might have only days to a month to live and recommended hospice after just two weeks in the hospital.”
However, it is still unclear what species attacked the 34-year-old mother, but an expert from Kansas State University weighed in, fearing the Brown Recluse spider, (carries a highly poisonous venom) commonly found in the area might have bit Britagne, per Australia News.
The mother, whose kids are aged between nine and 15, has been given little time to survive by her doctors.
Britagne is now on a long road to recovery, with her family appealing for financial help on GoFundMe.
