Prince Harry is determined to continue the momentum in the peace talks especially after Princess Archie and Princess Lilibet were able to meet their doting grandfather King Charles at Highgrove House last month.
Queen Camilla has been instrumental in the reconciliation plans with the Sussexes. She had been present with Charles when Harry first visited after the cancer news and she accompanied the monarch during the Highgrove meeting.
It is understood that Charles wanted his wife to be there when Harry came with Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
There has only been one meeting where Harry and Charles met alone, which took place last September. It was brief, reportedly less than an hour, amid their busy schedules.
As talks continue to resolve the feud, Palace still has its concerns as it does not trust Harry and Meghan fully yet. Previous reports have claimed that the Firm wants Camilla to watch over Charles, who holds a soft corner for Harry still.
“Charles can be incredibly firm as King, but Harry knows how to reach Charles as a father,” a source told Rob Shuter. “That is the vulnerability.”
“Harry knows exactly when his father is most vulnerable,” the palace source continued. “Camilla being away removes one of the strongest voices telling Charles to think carefully before responding.”
Charles and Camilla are currently in Balmoral on their summer break. The couple are usually together but they also have their independent work and engagements keeping them busy.
Hence, Palace aides are actively on their phones for any updates especially when Charles and Camilla will be on their own.
Harry knows and understands his father emotionally and is very well aware that Charles “misses” him. He truly believes that under the anger, his father loves his son and wants him back, which is why he is looking to speak to him in a father-son setup.
