Leonardo DiCaprio apparently still believes he can outsmart the paparazzi.
The internet, meanwhile, remains unconvinced.
The Titanicstar recently sparked a fresh round of online jokes after videos showed him leaving a venue while seemingly doing everything possible to avoid being photographed.
According to footage circulating online, DiCaprio waited several seconds as a group of women walked out ahead of him.
Once they had cleared the way, the Oscar winner finally stepped outside — head lowered, baseball cap pulled down and face mask already in place.
One person in the crowd summed up the situation by shouting, “Always hiding his face, but why?”
Honestly, fair question.
The 50-year-old actor has made privacy something of a personal sport over the years. Baseball caps, masks, hoodies, sunglasses and even umbrellas have all been part of his paparazzi-dodging toolkit.
Social media users quickly turned the latest sighting into a comedy show.
One X user defended him, writing, “He just doesn’t want to be photographed; he’s been covering his face for years and paparazzi still show up to photograph him when they know he’s not gonna give them anything.”
Another joked, “Definitely not Leonardo, that’s a decoy.”
DiCaprio has previously made it clear that he values keeping his private life away from the cameras.
He has said that when he isn’t promoting a project, he prefers to “disappear as much as you possibly can.”
Unfortunately for him, disappearing is easier said than done when you’re Leonardo DiCaprio.
At this point, the cap and mask may be hiding his face — but they’re also practically announcing, “Yes, this is Leonardo DiCaprio.”
