Michael B. Jordan shows up at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art with an unkempt appearance and fans immediately have questions.
Over the weekend the Sinnersstar arrived at the star-studded opening-night gala, looking every bit the Hollywood leading man; however it was his beard that quickly stole the spotlight.
Dressed in a sophisticated black double-breasted suit with a striped tie, diamond earrings and a full beard, the Oscar winner posed against the museum’s striking metallic sculpture backdrop.
Yet while his formal ensemble drew plenty of attention, social media users became fixated on one detail: his noticeably scruffy facial hair.
Some viewers questioned why the Creedactor had seemingly skipped a more polished shape-up for such a high-profile event.
“Damn, why he didn’t get a shape-up and get his beard cleaned up?” one commenter wrote, while another joked about men intentionally going “scruff McGuffey.”
Others were even more direct, with reactions including, “Damn he couldn’t clean up the beard,” and “Why does the beard look unfinished like that?”
Amid the criticism, another theory began circulating: what if the rugged look is intentional?
Several social media users wondered whether Jordan, 39, could be growing out his beard for an upcoming acting role or preparing for a project.
One reaction summed up the speculation: “Maybe he’s filming something bc wth is this?”
There is currently no confirmation that the Black Panther actor’s beard is connected to a specific film or character, so the role theory remains just a fan speculation.
