King Charles seemed to have had a very busy past few weeks as he was pulled from many directions, managing the chaos that had ensued between members of the royal family.
There had been the reunion with the Sussexes taking place at one end, including the security row between the Palace and Prince Harry, and at the other end there were the Waleses upset about the whole ordeal.
The scrutiny over the Yorks had also not died down as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson continue to attract attention, but for the wrong reasons. On top of that several decisions over Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie lay pending.
Now, the King is hoping to find some reprieve during his break as the Palace made an announcement.
As per tradition, the monarch heads to Scotland for summer break and other members of the royal family also join him for a private gathering.
The Palace issued a statement as Charles planted the King’s Rose at The Castle of Mey to kickstart his annual ritual.
“His Majesty has begun his summer break in Scotland at The Castle and Gardens of Mey, which once belonged to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother,” the message read.
“To mark the occasion, The King has planted a new addition to the Diamond Jubilee Rose Garden, The King’s Rose.”
It also noted that the Castle and Gardens of Mey in Caithness are managed and run by the King’s Foundation, but were originally purchased by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1952.
