Princess Anne has taken on a key royal duty amid family update as she stepped out in Edinburgh on Wednesday, meeting RAF, Scottish Regiment and Canadian pipe band in powerful royal return.
King Charles III’s only sister has been a patron of the event since 2006, and often meets with international performers during rehearsals.
On August 5, the Princess Royal surprised fans as she donned a tartan skirt and a cream jacket to hold chat with the Royal Regiment of Scotland, the Royal Air Force, and others.
She was in good spirits and watched the rehearsal at Redford Barracks after chatting with various groups taking part.
She was accompanied by her youngest sibling, Prince Edward, as well as their respective spouses Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual series of military tattoos performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands, and artistic performance teams on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in the capital of Scotland.
The event is held each August as one of the Edinburgh Festivals. The show runs from August 7 to 29 this year.
On their site, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo said: “As Patron of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, The Princess Royal has shown her support of the Tattoo since 2006.
“Previously attending rehearsals at Redford Barracks to meet cast members and those working behind the scenes to create the iconic spectacle.”
