The Sopranosfamily is coming together to mourn their beloved castmate, Vincent Pastore.
As news of Pastore’s death spread over the weekend, his former co-stars shared emotional tributes, remembering him as a loyal friend, a gifted performer and a cherished member of the show’s close-knit cast.
In a statement to Page Six, Edie Falco — who portrayed Carmela Soprano — called Pastore’s death “an awful loss” which was “so unexpected.”
Jamie-Lynn Sigler — who portrayed Meadow Soprano — remembered Pastore as “A wonderful actor, a kind and loving man” on her Instagram Stories. “It was an honor to know you and work with you,” she added.
Meanwhile, Lorraine Bracco — who played Dr Jennifer Melfi — called him “such a funny and charming man with a beautiful soul,” adding that his death was “absolutely heartbreaking.”
Dominic Chianese — who portrayed Corrado “Junior” Soprano — wrote on Instagram, “We lost a friend today. Paying respect and sending Love in tribute. You were a gem Vinnie.”
Michael Imperioli — who played Christopher Moltisanti — shared in an Instagram post, “Our beloved friend and collaborator VINCENT PASTORE has passed away. This is a hard one for us, it seems like I’ve known Vinny forever.”
“We did lots of work together and travelled all over the USA as well as Italy and Australia. Lots of good times. Lots of laughs. Vinny was a kind-hearted brother who cared deeply about his family and friends. I will miss him always.”
Stevie Van Zandt — who played Silvio Dante — wrote on X, “Another irreplaceable brother gone. It never gets any easier. Travel well, Vincenzo.”
Kathrine Narducci — who portrayed Charmine Bucco — described the loss as “crushing,” writing, “With the most heavy heavy heart I lost my dearest big brother friend Vincent Pastore. 35 years of friendship. This is a tremendous loss.”
Joe Pantoliano — who portrayed Ralph Cifaretto — noted in his Instagram tribute that while “Vin and I were never actually on set together… through our Sopranos family I got to know him over the years.”
Pastore, best known for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero across all six seasons of The Sopranos, was found at his New York home on Saturday, August 1, after loved ones had not heard from him for several days.
According to Deadline, authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee Pastore.
