Timothée Chalamet is celebrating New York Knicks victory after over a five decade championship drought.
Shortly after the final match of the 2026 NBA took place on Saturday, June 13, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, the Dunestar took to his Instagram Stories to mark the feat.
He reveled in the historic moment by sharing an image of a mock New York Postfront page emblazoned with the headline “CHAMPS!” splashed across the cover.
The photos depicts jubilant Knicks players celebrating what it describes as the franchise’s first NBA title in 53 years.

The well-known, longtime and passionate Knicks supporter’s social media update reflected the emotion felt across the fan base after decades of waiting for another championship as the team last won an NBA title in 1973.
“Knicks break 53-year drought, win NBA title,” the subheadline of the fabricated newspaper read.
As for Chalamet, he has become a familiar presence courtside at Knicks games during recent playoff runs.
Interestingly the Marty Supremelead explicitly said he would rather have the Knicks’ championship victory over an Oscar after his recent Academy Award loss.
Following the New York Knicks’ decisive Game 5 victory over the San Antonio Spurs to clinch the NBA Championship, a visibly thrilled American-French actor was caught celebrating on the court.
Shouting directly into ESPN‘s SportsCenter cameras, he exclaimed,”Way rather this than the Oscars! Come on, baby! The Knicks are champions, baby!”
The die-hard fan’s quote went viral in part because he has been nominated for multiple Academy Awards but had recently experienced a few high-profile losses.
