Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter is officially turning the page.
Nearly two decades after growing up under one of Hollywood’s most recognisable surnames, the 20-year-old has legally changed her name from Suri Cruise to Suri Noelle, according to voter registration records obtained by People magazine.
Page Sixfirst reported the update. “Noelle” also happens to be Katie Holmes’ middle name.
Suri, now a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania, registered to vote in Allegheny County during her freshman year in October 2024 using her new legal name.
Fans first spotted the change months earlier when she was listed as Suri Noelle at her June 2024 high school graduation—coincidentally, the same weekend Tom Cruise was enjoying Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London.
Cruise and Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006 before marrying later that year. Their marriage ended in 2012.
As Suri settled into college life, Holmes couldn’t hide her excitement about her daughter’s new chapter. “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy,” she told Town & Country.
“I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
Holmes also made headlines in late 2024 after shutting down reports that Suri inherited a trust fund from Cruise.
“Completely false,” she wrote on Instagram over a screenshot of the claim. “Daily Mail you can stop making stuff up.” She added in the caption: “Enough.”
Despite keeping a low profile, Suri was later photographed reuniting with her mother on the New York set of Happy Hours in 2025, proving she still prefers family moments over the Hollywood spotlight.
