United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have hit a new low as he loses support of nearly two-thirds of Americans on various issues.
A new CNNpoll conducted by SSRShas found that around 73% of adult residents believe that the Republican leader hasn’t paid enough attention to the most critical problems of the country while 27% spoke in his favour.
These results come at a time when the U.S. is involved in an ongoing war against Iran, which has now entered its sixth month. The public is also unhappy with economic stagnation, rising fuel prices and Trump’s attitude toward approaching these issues.
Respondents were asked what do they think Trump’s policies have done so far:
- Worsened economic condition in the country: 65% in favour
- Improved economic conditions in the country: 22% in favour
- Had no effect on economic conditions in the country: 13%
Another question put in front of the US nationals was:
Do you think Donald Trump’s decision about military actions in Iran have:
- Hurt the US: 67% agreed
- Helped the US: 21% agreed
- Not made any difference to the US: 12% gave a neutral stance

The latest CNN poll was conducted from July 23-27 among a random national sample of 1,225 US adults drawn from a probability-based panel. Surveys were either conducted online or by telephone with a live interviewer. Results have a margin of sampling error of up to ±3.2 percentage points.

The 80-year-old president’s approval rating has also hit a new low of reaching 34%. Even in his own Republican Party, Trump’s approval rating has decreased to 78% with only 19% of party affiliated respondents appearing enthusiastic about the remainder of his term.
