As Pakistan marked its 79th Independence Day anniversary on Friday, prominent showbiz stars across the Pakistani entertainment industry took to social media to mark the nation’s special day with pride, warmth and patriotism.
Prominent figures, including Asim Azhar, Aiman Khan, Muneeb Butt, Resham, Amar Khan, Faysal Quraishi, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui and others, shared adorable glimpses of the celebration on Instagram.
Danish Taimoor acknowledged that the people get “frustrated, disappointed, and sometimes even lose hope, but at the end of the day… this is home.”
“A country that wasn’t handed to us; it was fought for, prayed for, and sacrificed for,” he added.
“We are Pakistan. And Pakistan is us.”
Saif Ali Khan shared a scenic clip while singing the national song on the stage.
Moreover, Muneeb Butt, another admired actor, posted a story on Instagram, showing his daughters and wife Aiman Khan chanting the slogan of “Pakistan Zindabad”
Carrying a national flag, donning a green and white coloured eastern suit and a green dupatta, Zubab Rana wished: “A very happy Independence Day to every Pakistani, everywhere. Let’s keep the spirit of freedom alive in our hearts and minds.”
Asim Azhar shared a video clip of the flag with a green heart emoji.
Resham posted her cheery video with Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari and messages expressing their joy for the day.
“May the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotism always inspire us to build a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan,” posted Faysal Quraishi.
Asad Siddiqui emphasised the importance of independence, saying: “We’re in our country; we cannot be expatriated from here due to a foreign passport.”
In addition, Siddiqui said: “No one can snatch our identity.”
Amar shared pictures of herself, recalled memories, and wished fans well.
Draped in Pakistan’s flag around her body, Saba Faisal posted on Instagram and prayed for the country.
“Happy Independence Day to everyone. Celebrating independence and standing with fellow Kashmiris today as well. Freedom is incomplete until it’s shared by all,” penned Hina Altaf while sharing a picture, dressed in white and green.
Alongside festive pictures and heartwarming family moments, the celebrities extended heartfelt prayers and uplifting wishes for the peace, progress, and lasting prosperity of the motherland.
