Grand Theft Auto 6 is inching closer to the Netflix ‘Extended Look’ premiere scheduled for August 27, 2026, after Rockstar Games hit with a major blow of leaked GTA 6 gameplay clips.
A week into the GTA 6 community’s roller coaster ride, a self-proclaimed investigator has come up with a unique piece of evidence.
The online sleuth who shared content under the handle name of @KINGJulien claims after he did his ONSIT probe, finding that CyberLeek is a ‘repeat threat actor’.
The sleuth also claimed he had sent all the evidence to Rockstar Games and Take-Two legal teams, who are scrambling to find out who leaked the GTA 6 gameplay clips.
Who is KINGJulien?
KingJulien is not a new entry in the gaming world; he’s a familiar face among the GTA community, who have burnt the midnight oil tracking Rockstar Games’s every move.
The user’s one such viral post on X (formerly Twitter) on August 21 has sparked debate online, where he offered insights into his ONSIT probe and identifying the person behind CyberLeek.
The post in question has crossed over 9 million views and is still counting, with over 4 thousand comments.
This shows how serious the gaming community is taking up his ONSIT probe.
The sleuth first went on to reveal the findings into CyberLeek’s bank details, claiming his findings link “this guy’s (behind CyberLeek) personal bank account; the bank is located in Europe.”
Then he clarified that from now on, he’ll call him ‘Leaker’ only.
Continuing with the post, he claimed that he has provided the data of his probe to Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar Games, to “make their job easier and help pin down the people involved (it’s not just one).”
He also explained why he hasn’t shared the data on his X account, stating, “Revealing it publicly could give the guys time to cover their tracks or alter evidence.”
But he did offer his insights in bullets.
- 1 The leeker is actually a threat actor who has previous malicious activity under a different alias.
- 2 The leak was apparently due to a breach or an insider.
He then shared two different versions of the stories of how he came to the conclusion that it was an inside job.
- a) One story I got is that leeker bought a backdoor access or some sort from someone.
- b) Another person told me this is somewhat related to some incident inside Rockstar a while ago.
Lastly, the sleuth revealed a surprising fact that has left the GTA 6 community shocked.
“This build we are seeing here is apparently from a year ago, but the theft I believe happened in April 2026 and the leeker has been preparing since then.”
The leeks led to Take-Two Interactive, parent company behind the most anticipated game of the decade, GTA 6, publisher Rockstar Games, filing for subpoenas for Microsoft, Discord, and FitHub.
Rockstar Games is set to release the ‘Extended Look’ premiere of GTA 6 on Netflix on August 27, 2026.
