Zayn Malik may have just found his unexpected vocal twin in new collaborator Ayra Starr.
The former One Direction star sent fans into a frenzy on Saturday, August 22, after sharing a short black-and-white video of himself singing Heaven Baby.
Many listeners were less focused on his collaboration with the Nigerian singer and more stunned by how similar the two artists sounded.
In the outdoor clip, the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker appeared in a jacket as he sang a portion of the track. He simply captioned the post, “Good morning :)”
However, some fans expressed their thoughts that the two singers sound eerily similar and they had to listen twice to distinguish their vocals.
One social media user wrote on X, “Yo, why do both of them kinda sound the same,” pointing to the husky texture shared by the duo.
Another admitted, “It took me a minute to tell their verses apart,” while another jokingly reacted to one of Zayn’s lines by asking, “AYRA?!”
Others were even more convinced that the singers have remarkably similar vocal qualities.
“He and Ayra have identical voices,” one fan declared.
The reactions come just days after Zayn and Ayra Starr released Heaven Babyon August 14.
The collaboration appears as track No. 14 on Ayra’s third studio album, Starrgirl.
