Anne Hathaway may be keeping her baby’s gender under wraps, but one fan at D23 nearly got her to spill the secret.
The Devil Wears Pradastar, 43, was accepting her Disney Legend honour Sunday, August 16, when someone in the crowd shouted the question everyone seems to be asking: “Boy or girl?”
Hathaway’s response? A masterclass in saying absolutely nothing while somehow making the moment even more exciting.
“Oh, just be patient!” she replied.
Laughing as she held her growing baby bump, Hathaway then added, “You’re gonna find out in five minutes,” joking that the wait might not be much longer.
Hathaway is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. The couple are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.
For now, though, Hathaway and Shulman are keeping the baby’s sex private. She previously addressed the mystery during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“We know, we’re not saying…I always feel so rude saying that. I feel so bad,” she said.
Naturally, fans have already started playing detective. Some have pointed to Hathaway’s recent love of blue outfits during her busy press tour, wondering if she’s quietly dropping hints.
Or, as is often the case with celebrity fashion, perhaps blue is simply blue.
Either way, Hathaway appears to be enjoying the guessing game while preparing for baby No. 3. And if her D23 answer is any indication, fans may not have to wait much longer for the big reveal.
The actress is also gearing up for Yesteryear, an adaptation of Caro Claire Burke’s bestselling novel.
