Meghan Markle has shared a touching personal memory from Princess Lilibet’s first day of pre-school.
Speaking about the special moment, the Duchess of Sussex recalled being approached by another parent during the school drop-off, only to realise they had once belonged to the same Girl Scout troop in Los Angeles.
“Funny enough, on Lili’s first day of pre-K, one of the mums came up to me at drop-off, and I realised we were in our troop together,” Meghan said. “It was so sweet and nostalgic.”
The surprise encounter transformed an emotional first day for 4 year old Lilibet into a reminder of Meghan’s own childhood, bringing back memories she had not expected to relive decades later.
The Duchess has often spoken fondly about her years in the Girl Scouts, where she began as a Brownie before progressing to the Junior Girl Scouts.
Her mother, Doria Ragland, served as the troop leader, making the experience an important part of Meghan’s early life.
Those memories have resurfaced while promoting Cookie Queens, a documentary produced by the Duchess and Prince Harry through Archewell Productions.
The film, which arrives in cinemas on August 7, marks the couple’s first theatrical release as executive producers.
