Prince Harry dealt a heartbreaking blow as an Invictus Games new member decided to ‘pull out’ of the Duke’s passion project.
Uganda’s military chief made a shocking announcement on Wednesday via a post on X that they are withdrawing from the Invictus Games in order to show solidarity with King Charles.
He wrote on social media, “In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the Invictus Games.
We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty’s approval.”
Moreover, speaking to The Times, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the head of Uganda’s armed forces, called the drama surrounding Harry and Meghan’s UK return ‘nonsense.’
He said, “I have factions in the Ministry of Defence that support that Harry-Meghan nonsense. I had to quash it straight away. I support the monarch. Period.”
Notably, Uganda just two months ago announced their addition to the Invictus Community and participation in the Birmingham Games set to take place in 2027.
