Sandra Bullock is opening up about her biggest fear for her two adopted children.
While promoting her new movie Practical Magic 2 on The Today Show alongside co-star Nicole Kidman, Bullock, 62, admitted that she’s “uber paranoid” about her son and daughter facing racism.
“I’m uber paranoid and they will tell you,” she said. “They’re like, ‘Mom it’s gonna be fine.’ I’m like, ‘It’s not fine. It’s not fine outside,’” she added tearfully.
The Blind Side actress pointed to the “energy that is floating around our country and our world.”
“The colour of their skin…” she continued. “They’re my babies and they’re my life but no one knows that when they leave my house. So, that is always in the forefront of my mind.”
Bullock added that she is “learning to trust” that her children can handle themselves following “all the conversations” she has had with them, admitting that she has “got to stop thinking about it so much” now.
The Oscar-winning actress welcomed her son Louis via adoption in January 2010 when he was three-and-a-half months old. She adopted her daughter, Laila, five years later when she was two-and-a-half years old.
