A tragic accident on a highway in Taiwan has resulted in the death of two people. The deadly-clash was captured on video, which has now gone viral on social media.
According to local authorities, the crash occurred near the 147-kilometer mark of National Freeway No. 1 in Miaoli County.
The video of the incident shows that a van rear-ended a Tesla and the drivers of both vehicles got out of their cars to discuss the crash, they stayed on the road instead of moving to the shoulder.
A third vehicle came speeding toward them and hit the van triggering a chain accident. The black colored van can be seen moving three lanes away due to the impact of the collision, blocking the whole highway for the moment.
The passenger and the driver of the van were pronounced dead. The Tesla driver also suffered cardiac arrest and she remains in a coma. She was later pronounced dead.
Netizens described the accident as “danger of stopping in the middle of lane” without protection. Another expressed, “Set recklessness causes the death of three people in a serious accident.”
Several eagle-eyed netizens alleged that the driver of the third vehicle might have been on his phone, which resulted in him crashing at such a high-speed.
Police have launched an investigation into the crash.
