Zendaya and Tom Holland may be Hollywood’s favourite couple, but for them, it all comes down to one simple word: friendship.
While celebrating the UK premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya was asked who she’s most grateful to have grown up alongside in the industry. Her answer came without hesitation.
“Well, Tom, obviously, my best friend, but being able to do these films with him is a privilege, and I love to be able to grow together and watch him,” she said. “I mean, he’s the best.”
The heartfelt moment comes as the longtime couple reunite on screen in the latest Spider-Manfilm, nearly a decade after first meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Holland recently returned the favour with a glowing tribute of his own, revealing just how much Zendaya means to him amid the chaos of blockbuster filmmaking.
“I think Zendaya always just brings me an unbelievable sense of calm,” he said. “Even in the midst of all of this craziness… No one calms me down better than she does.”
The actor has also explained why fans rarely see them making joint red-carpet appearances.
“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” Holland previously said.
From co-stars to best friends to newlyweds, the pair continue to keep most of their romance out of the spotlight–proving that sometimes the strongest Hollywood love stories are the ones that don’t need a script.
