Prince Harry, who is understood to be looking forward to the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year, is anticipating to have his father King Charles to be at the opening ceremony.
The monarch had officially opened the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow nearly two weeks ago, and the senior members of the royal family also attended on different dates during the 11-day event.
Amid reports that the Harry has sent in a request for his father to do the honours once again for his sporting event next year, the Invictus Games team released a delightful message with a strong message for the royals.
“Congratulations to the @glasgow_2026 team for 11 fantastic days of sport and para sport,” the statement from the Birmingham Games read.
It noted that, this year had “Biggest integrated Para sport programme in Commonwealth Games history, international display of sportsmanship, camaraderie and healthy competition; and celebration of Scotland and Glasgow’s rich culture”.
The message then asked if one enjoyed the adaptive sports at the Commonwealth Games, then next year’s Invictus Games would be to your liking.
It has been previously cited by sources close to Prince Harry that it would “mean the world” to him if Charles agreed to come together publicly.
While there has been no official update from Harry nor the Palace, the reunion at Highgrove House last month has added some optimism to the possibility.
Although, this message from Harry’s team appears to be powerful indicator that their hopes are high for a royal attendance as well.
