KARACHI: The Sindh School Education Department has announced new timings for government schools across the province, covering primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary institutions.
According to a notification issued by the department, revised schedules have been finalised for single-shift and double-shift schools, with separate timings for the summer and winter periods.
The notification stated that until October 31, single-shift primary schools will operate from 8:00am to 2:30pm, while on Fridays they will remain open from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
For secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will run from 7:30am to 1:30pm until October 31.
From November 1 to March 31, single-shift primary schools will function from 8:30am to 3:00pm, while the first shift for secondary and higher secondary schools will operate from 8:00am to 1:45pm.
The notification further read that the second shift will run from 1:00pm to 6:00pm from Monday to Thursday until October 31.
From November 1 to March 31, second-shift schools will operate from 12:45pm to 5:45pm, while on Fridays the second shift will be held from 10:45am to 2:15pm.
